The casting machine is the most critical component of any casting station. Wagstaff's ShurCast Casting Machine meets stringent customer and alloy requirements for direct chill casting. The casting cylinder is internally guided, eliminating the need to adjust and repair external guide columns. The casting rate is controlled by a state-of the art-hydraulic control system, resulting in consistently smooth and accurate casts. The Wagstaff Torque Limiter protects the cylinder from unanticipated rotational forces on the platen. The heavy-duty steel platen is precision machined to provide a flat surface for accurate mounting of the starting head base, and is weighted to ensure smooth, consistent cast starts.
